The Borails were built with 8' plate bogies and vacuum brakes. Mullet YLAs: during the mid 1980s the Borail BRAs were moved into Departmental use and some remain in use today. As with the earlier BRA rebuilds the move to Departmental use saw the YLAs used to transport rail from Workington to various BR depots. Many Mullets remain in Departmental
