Having no doors, these wagons were unloaded by means of a rotary tippler. As their work with BR faded, either through displacement or replacement, many wagons found a new lease of life in private use. The National Coal Board took on several, including this example numbered 63, which has been decorated in the NCBs striking blue and yellow
