The piece is fired once and then finished with the majolica process (brushed ceramic stains and oxides over the raw white glaze) before being fired once more. The process gives a water color look to the design but with the durability of glazed surfaces. Color will not fade or wear off. Safe for all food and the oven. Not microwaveable.
