The core is composed of five layers of Norwegian birch ply and the faces are sapele. LED light strip is hardwired with on off toggle switch. The artist found a unique plywood made for the lightweight aircraft industry. This plywood is 1 32" thick and consists of three layers within that 1 32". The artist applies a coat of plastic resin glue between every layer, wraps that around the mold
