As the first of 20 modified Avro Lancasters arrived at RAF Scampton on 8th April 1943
The idea of providing high speed domestic services on to Medway and East Kent was seen as a catalyst for regeneration of these areas
which included a repaint in Fragonset’s striking black livery with maroon/gold stripe and the mythical creature-themed name Chimaera
reflecting the strikingly different schemes worn over the course of its life
