A Latin cross; the obverse with a central medallion bearing the leftward facing bust of Herzog Albrecht, surrounded by a ring inscribed Albertus Animous (Latin Albert the Merciful), along with arabesques towards the bottom of the ring, the reverse with a with a crowned royal coat of arms surrounded by a ring, dated 1850, along with arabesques; on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon;
