Constructed of carmine wool, the exterior bearing a hand stitched golden yellow inscription of ON PARLE FRANCAIS (WE SPEAK FRENCH), fastening closed with four metal snap buttons, the interior stamped with an illegible white ink mark, measuring 4 cm (w) x 17. 5 cm (l) when closed and folded on a flat surface, an insignia commonly worn by German police officers during the early post war Allied
