Russia, Imperial. A Crimean War Chaplain Cross, c.1856 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac orange-brownInstituted August 26, 1856. In bronze, obverse bearing dates 1853 1854 1855 1856 with monograms of Nicholas I and Alexander II, the reverse presents a cyrillic inscription, measures 58. 7 mm (w) x 102. 3 mm (h), light wear, with elongated suspension loop, remains near very fine.
