on a loop for suspension from its period original ribbon featuring a miniature plaque attached via two pins

with the majority of the original silvering worn off

Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal, Galipoli Star, By B.b. & Co. Archive 1 Clasp - NON ARTICLE(Harp Madalyasi). Instituted in 1915. In silvered bronze with red enamels, German made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, maker marked "B. B. & Co." on the reverse, measuring 57. 5 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), horizontal pinback, intact enamels, very light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V
