Vintage Irvin B. Foster & Sons Sportswear "Type G-1 Spec" US Navy Flight Jacket Biker worn in and lightly fadedIrvin B. Foster & Sons began manufacturing the G 1 flight jacket in the early 1960s. The jacket had been in production since the 40s, but starting in 1961 the Navy gave contracts to two companies: Foster & Sons and Ralph Edwards Sportswear. The patterns for the jackets were supplied to both companies so the fit was nearly identical, but the brands still had their own subtleties. The Foster & Sons G 1 was noted for its superb quality, and now decades
