A Latin cross in gilded bronze, with blue enamelled arms bordered in white enamel, with sun rays emanating between the arms from the centre applique, central medallion depicting a black enamelled swastika ringed by a raised inscription of DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER (THE GERMAN MOTHER), the reverse inscribed with institution date of 16 Dezember 1938 and facsimile of the Fhrer and Reichskanzler, unmarked, measures
