A First War United States Air Service Pilot Wing; "Dallas" Type, By Bb&B Auction February 1stShield and flanking wings in sterling silver, initials "U S" in Gold affixed to the shield, mounted to a sterling silver base, crisscross patterned leather piece applied to the reverse (presumed to keep the wing from sliding on the uniform), finely detailed, unmarked, but this type of wing is attributed to the famous US jewelers Bailey, Banks & Biddle of Philadelphia, 24 mm x 91. 7 mm, horizontal pinback, very light contact, extremely fine.
