Constructed of bronzed zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates 1941 1942, affixed with three reverse attachment prongs to a zink backplate with a field grey wool liner indicating Heer issue, the reverse retaining an intact paper backer, unmarked, the shield measuring 52. 66 mm (w) x 61. 80 mm (h),
