Constructed of bronze with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a white disc overlaid by a red Geneva Cross, in turn topped by a DRK style German national eagle, situated within a black enameled border bearing a gilt inscription of DEUTSCHES ROTES KREUZ SCHWESTERNSCHAFT (GERMAN RED CROSS SISTERHOOD), the reverse with a narrow barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch,
