Accompanied by its 33. 2 mm (w) x 7. 3 mm (h) ribbon bar with black plastic button hole attachment. Footnote: The medal was instituted by the Royal Decree on May 23, 1941 and could be awarded to Norwegian and foreign military and civilians who had been actively involved in fighting
