Constructed of silvered magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised Heer style German national eagle clutching an Iron Cross defaced by a central swastika, situated above an inscription of CHOLM 1942, affixed with three reverse attachment prongs to a field grey wool backer with an intact paper liner, unmarked, measuring 39. 54 mm (w) x 64. 77 mm (h), demonstrating minor oxidation of the shield and
