Canada, CEF. A 49th Infantry Battalion Cap Badge, Type I with Maple Leaf Newly Listed and in very fine condition/In browning copper, maker marked "R. J. INGLIS LIMITED" on the reverse, measuring 35. 7 mm (w) x 38. 5 mm (h), both lugs intact, exhibiting scattered greening on the obverse, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Battalion was raised in Edmonton, Alberta under the authority of G. O. 86, July 1, 1915. The mobilization headquarters was also at Edmonton. The Battalion sailed June 4, 1915 with a strength of 36 officers and 996 other ranks under the command
