Constructed of bronzed feinzink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn flanked by dates "1941 1942", the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs affixing the shield to an original metal backplate with a dark navy blue wool liner and intact black backer, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of
