Portugal, Republic. A Military Order of Aviz, Knight, c. 1900 visually-hidden It is a gendarmerie force(Ordem Militar de So Bento de Aviz). Instituted in 1162, revised in 1789. In silver gilt with green enamels, measuring 27. 2 mm (w) x 41. 8 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring, intact enamels, original silk ribbon, extremely fine.
