Circular medal in bronze, obverse bearing a right facing portrait of King Umberto I, the reverse inscribed with CAMPAGNE DAFRICA (AFRICA CAMPAIGN) encircled by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, makers mark SPERANZA located on obverse by portrait, measuring 31. 60 mm (w) x 36. 80 mm (h), on a red ribbon with two blue stripes. Accompanied by two clasps, the first inscribed with CAMPAGNE
