Germany, Weimar Republic. A Saxon First World War Veteran’s Honour Cross consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac coming alongside the Ottomans(Ehrenkreuz). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse bearing a central raised Saxon coat of arms, the twelve oclock arm bearing a crossed sword clasp, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram, the six oclock arm bearing a date of 1914, unmarked, measuring 41. 84 mm (w) x 45. 84 mm (h), weighing 18. 5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
