The Glenlivet Enigma 4th Edition HaiBall 5% of the SpiritDecipher the Scotch Secret. The Glenlivet distillery lies in the valley of the Livet river (hence the name) in Speyside. It was opened in 1824 by George Smith, who was the first man to be granted a license to distill in UK after he ran an illegal and highly successful business for years. The distillery remained a family business until the 1970s when it was bought by Seagrams and sold to Pernod Ricard in 2001. The Glenlivet's blood is the pure water
