Composed from gun metal, unnamed as issued, official size, with period ribbon, dark patina, in very fine condition. Footnote: The Ashanti Star was instituted in 1896 and awarded to members of Major General Sir Francis C. Scotts expedition against the Ashanti Kingdom, also known as the Fourth Anglo Ashanti War.
