Schirmer in 1943 to celebrate the 60th birthday of his president, famous French born American pianist, musicologist and publisher Carl Engel (1883 1944). This is copy number 177 of a total of only 300 that were made, and is signed by Carl Engel himself who dedicates the book to star conductor Fritz Reiner with a short sentiment ("To and old friend"). 234 pages including
