It was created by John Bartholomew. Originally published in "The Times Survey Atlas of the World," this map depicts the mountainous land of Palestine in orographical colour. The map was published shortly after the First World War, where Palestine was administered by Great Britain on behalf of the League of Nations, a period called "The British Mandate." Israel isn't mentioned
