近年取り掛かっているシリーズ『石と桃 (英題: counterpoint)』の写真の多くは、パートナーとの旅行で訪れた老舗のホテルで、コンテに応じてセットアップで撮影しています。本作『IRON RIBBON』は、その制作のあいまに、ふいに撮影した写真を中心に構成されています。私たちはクラシカルなホテルが好きで、旅行先をどこにするかはその街に好みのホテルがあるかどうかで決まります。名所や食事、風景よりも、ホテルが優先なのです。
