Traditionally it was used on decorative painted cabinets and other furniture such as the wedding chests that would form part of a bride's dowry. The butterfly shaped handles on these lovely little warm elm bedside drawers are therefore a nice detail, and match the handles on our large tapered cabinet. The overall design of the chest, with its slightly tapered
