It was the "sunny garment" used by businesses in Aomori during the Meiji Period 1900s. The indigo dyed cotton was originally used for a table cover. It was then patched on by the sashiko technique to make this wonderful jacket. The Aizen shibori is called Asamai shibori. Asami Shibori was produced in
