You’ll need 4x4 to get to the trailhead as you turn off Guanella Pass, otherwise you’ll add another mile and 400+ foot gain (as of 2020 I believe this road is now closed to parking so you will not need 4x4 and will instead need to park at the trailhead where the road is still paved)
